Bed

The original bed got damaged (don't ask) so I purchase another from a junk yard, gutted it

and bolted it on.  Well, at least the back - nothing left to bolt to in the front.

Front Sheet Metal

Another change is in progress.  In order to make more room for the radiator, to lighten thins up

a little more and to ease work on the motor I've decided to make the front sheet metal 'quick'

removable with a simple tube framework that will replace the stock inner fenders and radiator

support.  I've welded a couple of pipes off the front end of the frame rails that will support the

radiator and the bumper.  The bumper will actually attach to pipes that slide inside the ones

I welded to the frame.  The framework I'm creating for the front sheetmetal will also attach to

the bumper mounts so the entire front end will slide off forward.

Front Frame & Firewall

I've got the motor out right now in order to clean up the front frame rails (& front suspension

while I'm at it).  I cut off the original motor mounts (as I now have a motor plate), boxed the

frame rails and seamed welded everything.  I'm also modifying the cowl by cutting it back to

the windshield, in the center, to clear future installation of a 6-71 supercharger :)

I've begun perhaps my least favorite part of the project, body work and paint.  I have shaved the

drip rails and welded up the body seams.   I'm going to get some used doors from a later

model without the vent windows and maybe with electric windows (no A/C and window cranks will

be hard to reach strapped into a racing seat).
